At the moment, there are no changes to the 2020 schedule.
The world is currently fighting a coronavirus epidemic. The CoViD-19 virus has caused a cancellation of several Motorsport events already. Four MotoGP events have been postponed, three Formula E races have been cancelled and the opening rounds of GT World Challenge series or the European Lamborghini Super Trofeo have been rescheduled.
While ESET V4 Cup series is going to introduce some safety measures, there are no changes planned to the schedule of the season at the moment. Today, Hungary and Austria have decided to limit sporting events, but organisers ensure that planned racing events are not in danger.
“From today, there are new rules that apply to every sporting event in Hungary. Currently, we are still allowed to host races at Hungaroring, but only without spectators. It is a shame, but we fully respect the decision and the preparations are continuing as planned,” said Fönix Motorsport.
In Austria, the situation is even more restricted as all racing events have been cancelled until the end of April, including hill climbing in Rechberg or Rebenland Rallye.
“Following today’s new restrictions, all Austrian races have been cancelled until the end of April. Our race is planned for the middle of May and Gerhard Leeb, our Austrian promoter, has ensured us that they still expect the event to happen and they’re continuing with preparations. The final decision will be taken three weeks before the event at the latest. Right now, we just have to wait and then react accordingly,” said Josef Křenek.
