The ESET GT Sprint races will continue next weekend at Slovakia Ring and once again, there will be a lot to watch.
This year’s ESET Cup series continues with Round 2 of the season at Slovakia Ring at the upcoming weekend of August 22 – 23, which is going to include the ESET GT Sprint races as well. There will be two races – while the first one is scheduled for Saturday, the other one is set to take place on Sunday. And looking at the entry list, there is a huge potential for a good racing.
The highest GT3 category is going to offer one big name – a two-time European Truck Racing champion David Vršecký. The Czech driver is going to race with a Mercedes-AMG GT3 of Buggyra Zero Mileage team, but he is going to face some tough competition. Drivers, who already excelled in the opening round of the season at Grobnik, like Daniel Skalický (Audi R8 LMS Ultra GT3, Duck Racing) or Gregor Zsigo (BMW M6 GT3, Trevor Racing). However, Skalický is going to race only on Saturday, as the Duck Racing team is set to enter another experienced driver – Petr Kačírek – on Sunday.
In the GT4 category, Sergej Pavlovec (KTM X-Bow GT4, RTR Projects) and Ferenc Ficza (BMW M4 GT4, Trevor Racing) won the first two races of the season at Grobnik and now they are both leading the championship. Both drivers are also going to race in Slovakia and their championship battle will continue. But there will also be another strong competitor Piotr Wira (Good Speed Racing Team, Mercedes GT GT4).
Mičánek Motorsport powered by Buggyra team from Brno will lead the way in a GTC category. The Czech team is set to enter two Lamborghinis after a successful opening round of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo series at Misano during the second August weekend. But they need to watch out also for the ESET Cup series regular Bódis Kálmán (Opció Kft/Bovi Motorsport, Porsche 991 GT3 Cup).
