The final round of the season at Hungaroring is going to offer some exciting drama in the GT4 Sprint races as there are still 3 drivers in the championship hunt.
This year’s season is set to end at Hungaroring on a weekend 24-25 October. And there will be a lot to watch, including a GT4 Sprint category championship title decider.
The 2020 GT4 Sprint season has been all about Ferenc Ficza (Trevor Racing) vs. Sergej Pavlovec (RTR Projects). Both drivers have finished in the first two places in the opening five races. While Pavlovec was victorious in the opening race of the season at Grobnik, Croatia, it was Ficza, who won the next four races.
But then in Brno, Pavlovec managed to stop his rival and took another victory. Ficza had to settle for only the 4th place, after losing to Tomáš Miniberger and Piotr Wira as well.
Yet, it is still Ficza who leads the championship. The Hungarian driver has 37.5 points, but he cannot make a mistake in his home event, as Pavlovec in the 2nd place has 34 points. The RTR Projects driver will be then waiting for any opportunity.
But there is also Piotr Wira who still has a chance to win the championship. The Good Speed Racing team driver has 22.5 points, and he has shown a lot of consistency. In all 5 races, he has always finished in the 3rd place.
