The current GT4 Endurance series leader and RTR Projects team owner Tomáš Miniberger spoke to our website ahead of the final round at Hungaroring. How does he like our series? And what are his ambitions for Hungary? You can learn that and much more in our interview.
Your team RTR Projects has entered the ESET Cup this year. What do you like about our series?
We wanted to race here especially because of the GT4 category, that has become increasingly popular on our favourite tracks and it offers a very competitive GT racing in Europe. And that is also the case in the ESET Cup. Every race has offered some exciting battles so far this season.
You are leading the GT4 Endurance series standings ahead of the final round of the season at Hungaroring. But your team is doing well also in the Sprint series. Your driver Sergej Pavlovec is currently 2nd and only 3.5 points behind the leader Ferenc Ficza. Are you happy with the way this season has been going so far? And not just as a team owner, but a driver?
As we basically consider this as our first season, we didn’t have any goals because we had no idea what we’re getting into. But the season has been going pretty well and we want to keep it that way in the final round, or even improve. Originally, we wanted to run with two cars and repeat our result from Brno, but the car still hasn’t been fully fixed. So, we’ll probably have only one car for the Sprint and Endurance races as well.
What are your ambitions for Hungaroring? And again, not just from the team owner’s point of view, but also the driver’s point of view.
Hungaroring is a circuit that we know only from a simulator. On other hand, this circuit should suit us. So, we’re looking forward to it and we believe in a good result.
