The 2021 season of GT sprint races continues with the penultimate round at Slovakiaring this weekend. We can find permanent drivers in the starting list. But at the same time, we will see also several returns.
After his absence in Grobnik, we will again see the championship leader Marcin Jedlinski in GT3 class. But he will have a strong opponent at least in the person of Gregor Zsigo. The Trevor Racing driver, who got the most out of Jedlinski´s absence in Grobnik and won both GT3 races there, is 17.5 points behind him in championship standings. But the third man of overall standings Adam Rzepecki, Piotr Wira, Stanislaw Jedlinski and Petr Kačírek will also try to fight for top positions.
But there are more interesting names in starting list. After a long time, two former stars of our GT3 races returns. They are Libor Milota and Christian Malchárek. Another returnee Rudolf Machánek will also want to do a good impression before home crowd. Bódis Kálmán, Martin Kaczmarski, Petr Brecka or Maciej Blazek also don´t want to be a makeweight.
GTC: Rzepecki goes for the title, Miniberger will try to extend winning streak
Except for GT3, Adam Rzepecki, Bódis Kálmán, Martin Kaczmarski, Petr Brecka and Maciej Blazek will fight for points also within GTC class. Rzepecki is in a very good position there. Among other things, he achieved two race victories this year and he is first in the championship standings with a lead of 15.5 points ahead of second Dennis Waszek. But the GT2 Motorsport driver will try to make it hard for Rzepecki at Slovakiaring.
Rzepecki and Waszek will definitely take into the consideration Tomáš Miniberger. The RTR Projects driver will make his third start with KTM X-Bow GTX in this season of our championship. His last appearance in Grobnik, Croatia was very successful. He won both sprint races in GTC and even in overall results. He is third in GTC championship standings. Rzepecki is twenty points ahead of him and Waszek si 3.5 points ahead of Miniberger.
But we musn´t forget also Josef Záruba. It will be another big comeback to our championship. The Czech driver will race with Lamborghini Huracán car of Mičánek Motorsport powered by Buggyra team.
GT4: Pavlíček against Ficza or Buggyra
Matěj Pavlíček will enter Slovakiaring round as GT4 championship leader. The RTR Projects driver scored six wins from eight races so far and he leads the championship by 12 points ahead of Ferenc Ficza. The Hungarian driver scored one victory and he obviously aims to add more trophies to his collection and will try to make the way of Pavlíček to the championship title more complicated.
We have to include also David Vršecký and Aliyyah Koloc from Buggyra Racing to our list of favourites. They started with Mercedes-AMG GT4 car for the first time in Grobnik. Vršecký was second in Race 1 and Koloc took victory in Race 2. Grega Šimunovič from Lema Racing also wants to achieve the best possible results at Slovakiaring.
