The first race of the third round of the ESET Cup at the Tor Poznań cwas won by the local driver Marcin Jedlinski with the Audi R8 LMS GT3 of the Olimp Racing team.
Home drivers Marcin Jedlinski and Robin Rogalski started from the front row with Audis, however, when entering the first turn after the start, Libor Milota got in front of both and took the lead. The second Rogalski persistently attacked the leader Milota, but the Czech driver drove in a defensive way and kept the first place.
Rogalski pushed himself to the front of the race in the fourth lap and gradually built up the lead. Milota, meanwhile, defended second place against Jedlinski. Both are favourites for the overall championship, so their duel was also important in terms of number of points they will take. Jedlinski finally got in front of Milota at the end of starting straight in the seventh lap.
Half of the race remained and Jedlinski got closer to the leader Rogalski. In the tenth round, Jedlinský’s path to winning was suddenly easier. Rogalski drove through the pitlane and fell to third place. The reason was a penalty for overtaking under yellow flags. Stanislaw Jedlinski received the same penalty.
Marcin Jedlinski, after being absent at the Red Bull Ring due to illness, comfortably finished in first place and celebrated another Eset Cup win. Libor Milota from the GT2 Motorsport team finished second and Robin Rogalski was third. Gregor Zsigo with the BMW M4 GT3 was fourth and another local driver Piotr Wira with a Mercedes finished fifth. Kategorii GTC opanovali rovněž polští závodníci.
The GTC category was also dominated by Polish competitors. Andrzej Lewandowski with Lamborghini SuperTropheo from GT3 Poland team has won ahead of Martin Kaczmarski from the PTT Racing and Adam Rzepecki . Kaczmarski and Rzepecki started with the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup. In the third round of the race, one of their opponents – Jędrzej Szczęśniak – crashed. A sudden puncture of the tire sent his black Lamborghini into spins and into the barriers. It was not a big blow like Dennis Waszek, who crashed in Friday’s practice and the destroyed lamborghini beyond repair.
