The battle for the overall ESET GT winner will continue with another event, this time at the Grobnik circuit. Libor Milota is in the lead of points standing, with Gregor Zsigo breathing down his back.
The fight for the title in GT narrowed down to two competitors in the middle of the season. Libor Milota with the older Mercedes AMG GT3 of the GT2 Motorsport team and Gregor Zsigo with the new BMW M4 GT3 of the Trevor Racing team. Although Milota is leading the standings, any failure would play into the hands of Zsigo. In addition, he Zsigo drives the latest BMW M4 specification and it is not easy for Milota to overtake this car, which we have already seen in previous events. Any results of both drivers in the remaining three events will therefore have a key influence on the final standing of the championship.
Of course, Milota and Zsigo do not compete only with each other and they often have strong competition in the starting field. Marcin Jedlinski, Ernst Kirchmayer and Robin Rogalski have already won races in the GT3 category this year, but due to their irregular starts, they cannot fight for the title.
The starting field of sports cars will be rich in Grobnik. ESET GT will once again cooperate with the Austrian TCM championship, which have a common classification with ESET GT. Thanks to the cooperation of the two series, for example, seven Porsche GT3 Cup cars are entered in the GTC category. Dennis Waszek will compete against them with the Lamborghini Super Tropheo, who reigns in the GTC category.
An equally large field will gather for Saturday’s endurance race, in which spectators can look forward again to the battles of cars in the GT3, GT4, GTC and GTX categories – as well as in sprint races. However, the composition of competitors will be different in some cases. Dennis Waszek once again swaps the Lamborghini for the BMW M4 GT3, which he shares with Gregor Zsigo all season and leads the GT3 classification. On the other hand, Luca Panizzi and Predrag Šainović with Mercedes AMG GT4 enjoy the lead in GT4. Marcin Kaczmarski and Mateusz Lisowski with Porsche lead the GTC category.
