Slovakia Ring is hosting the penultimate round of the ESET Cup season, and the battle in the GT categories is gaining momentum. In the GT3 classification, Libor Milota with the Mercedes AMG of the GT2 Motorsport team leads the standings, however, Gregor Zsigo is still within reach in the points and will also drive the home race. Zsigo starts this year with the new BMW GT3 M4, which excels Milota’s Mercedes and it will be interesting to see how Zsigo will do on the fast Slovakia Ring.
In the GT4 category, Mercedes AMG GT4 and Porsche Cayman GT4 will compete against each other. The Mercedes will be driven by Predag Šainović from the Lema Racing team. Richard Haas from the MBB Racing team will start with a Porsche.
The most cars will be in the GTC category, in which at least ten Porsche GT3 Cup cars will be presented. Jedrzej Szczesniak will stand against the supremacy of German machines with a Lamborghini Super Tropheo, as well as standings leader Dennis Waszek, who will drive the same car.
The starting list is again enriched by the Austrian Touring Car Masters championship with cup Porsches and KTM GTX specials.
It has already become a tradition that the home team ARC Bratislava, headed by Miro Konopka with Ligier JSP2, must not miss the Slovakian Grand Prix. The yellow Le Mans prototype will once again be a vivid example of with what the Bratislava team competes in the World Endurance Championship. In addition to Miro Konopka, his son Maťo will also appear in the team and will drive a Ligier LMP3. The two will then alternate behind the wheel of the Ligier LMP3 in Saturday’s endurance race, which again promises a rich starting field. A total of 36 cars are registered for endurance, with two fewer on at the sprint races.
