After a mistake in Saturday’s race, Libor Milota cheered himself up with Sunday’s victory. The Czech driver with the red and white Mercedes of the GT2 Motorsport team clearly dominated the GT3 category and won.
Milota took pole position in the GT cars and started right behind the two LMP2 and LMP3 prototypes of the Slovak team ARC Bratislava. The leader of the championship took hold first position after the start, chased by Christian Wimmberger in the GTX Category Lamborghini Huracan. Milota gradually create a gap from his pursuer and crossed the finish line six and a half seconds ahead of Wimmberger, who won the GTX category ahead of Artur Chwist and Alexander Ober.
In the GT3 classification, Piotr Wira with a Mercedes finished in second place behind Milota, and Stanislaw Jedlinski finished third with a Ferrari. Since Milota’s biggest competitor in the fight for the title, Gregor Zsigo, did not start in the race, Milota became the ESET Cup Series GT3 champion even before the final event in Brno.
In the GTC category, the Polish racer Jedrzej Szczesniak drove a Lamborghini Super Tropheo to win, beating the otherwise hard-to-beat Dennis Waszek, who is also racing a Lamborghini. Third was Bob Bau with Porsche.
As expected, the overall classification was dominated by the Le Mans prototypes. Local Miro Konopka started again with a Ligier LMP2 and won with a gap of almost six seconds ahead of his son Maťo with a Ligier LMP3.
