Starting from pole position, Tobias Poschik became the new Clio Cup champion in Saturday’s race, so the Sunday´s race was just the icing on the cake. He ended a successful season with a commanding victory and added another important success to his collection – he became the winner of the Junior Trophy standings across all ESET Cup and TCR Eastern Europe championships.
Poschik got off great and remained in the lead. Miha Primožič started the race just as well, but by far the best sprint into the first corner was performed by Martin Kadlečík from fourth place, who overtook Szabolcs Lantos on the outside and settled in third place.
Meanwhile, Lantos was battling with Thomas Fischer for fourth place and when Fischer moved ahead of Lantos, he immediately started attacking Kadlečík. However, Lantos benefited from their fight, as he got ahead of both competitors in the Schwantz corner.
The fight was far from over. Lantos also defeated Primožič and moved into second place. Fischer had the same goal, but he couldn’t find the recipe to overtake the Slovenian competitor and had to settle for fourth place ahead of Martin Kadlečík.
Tobias Poschik did not see all these fights. He was far ahead and, just like on Saturday, he showed another superb drive in a start-to-finish style. With his fifth win of the season and tenth place on the podium, in addition to the title in the Clio Cup, he also won the Junior Trophy, which awards young racers across all racing series in the ESET Cup and TCR Eastern Europe.
The fifth generation Clio Cup classification was won by Dejan Robida, who also scored a victory in the Saturday’s race.
