The German RS24 Racing team is preparing for its debut in the ESET Cup. The racing team from Hainburg will start this season with a new BMW GT4. Bastian Hein will be behind the wheel.
RS24 Racing is a very young project of the married couple Tina and Dirk Schuhmacher. The family team, represented on the racetrack by their son Bastian Hein, was founded at the end of 2021 and the following season was primarily a test season. “We raced the Seat Super Copa MK2 and then especially the Cupra TCR, with which Bastian achieved second place in the NTAC championship. After that, we performed two starts as a guest members within Seyffarth Motorsport, where Bastian raced an Audi R8 LMS GT4,” says Dirk Schuhmacher.
But with the new season comes new challenges. And there are several of them. “We bought a BMW GT4, which came to us in January. The BMW meets the highest standards and comes with an all-inclusive service package,” continues Schuhmacher.
The next challenge is, of course, the new ESET Cup championship. “It was recommended to us by our team technician and mechanic Stefanie Hanisch, who is technical inspector in the ESET Cup. That’s why we decided to contact Josef Krenek and go for it,” explains Tina Schuhmacher.
Their son Bastian started out in the karting, but then the whole family took a fifteen-year break from motorsport. ” We are an enthusiastic motorsport-family and live our project – the RS24 RacingTeam. Basti is gifted, as if he was born with the steering wheel and motorsport is running through his veins. Moreover, Oschersleben is his favourite track,” added Schuhmacher.
In addition to the ESET Cup, where the Schuhmacher family wants to achieve good results, meet new people and enjoy the weekends on the circuit, the RS24 Racing Team will also enter the NATC and DMV STGT Cup series.
