The Racing Trevor team from Slovakia, headed by Gregor Zsigo, has expanded this year with the addition of more Gran Turismo cars. Zsigo will once again be driving a BMW M4 GT3, with a pair of BMW M4 GT4s in the garage alongside him and later a Porsche 911 Cup car.
In Gregor Zsigo’s case, the same programme is planned as in previous years. He will compete in both sprint and endurance races with the GT3, this time driving alone in endurance. The first test for him and many other drivers will be the unfamiliar Oschersleben track. “It’s a nice and technical circuit, it’s just that the barriers seem very close to the track. I’m practicing on the simulator, but when we get there, the reality will be different,” said Zsigo.
As for the two BMW M4 GT4 cars, last year’s F4 champion Zeno Kovács and Antal Zsigo will drive them. The coincidence of names in this case is not accidental. Antal is Gregor’s cousin, who has raced in the Carbonia Cup or HistoCup.
“Starting from the Red Bull Ring, we will be joined by the Porsche 992 Cup. It is currently being tested and will be driven by Tomas David,” explained Zsigo.
And what are the goals for Gregor Zsigo, who won the endurance title last year together with Dennis Waszek and finished second overall in the sprints? “I’ll be satisfied with the top five results,” added modestly.
