On Friday, dual qualifying sessions for the ESET Cup took place at Red Bull Ring. The sessions determined the starting order for both sprints, which will both be held on Sunday this time. Miro Konopka, driving a Ligier LMP2 prototype, will start from the first position in the first sprint. Dennis Waszek secured the second position in the ESET Cup with his Lamborghini Super Trofeo in the GTC category. The fast Lamborghinis perform well on the Red Bull Ring track, and as seen in qualifying, these cars can even outperform GT3 machines. Among the GT3s, the fastest was Antal Zsigo, who switched from a BMW M4 GT4 to a BMW M4 GT3. He was followed by Gregor Zsigo in an older BMW M6 GT3. In the GTX category, Alexander Ober was the fastest, while Hubert Darmetko topped GTC1, and Rudolf Beňo was the quickest in GT4.
In the second sprint, Dennis Waszek will start from pole position, ahead of Alexander Ober. Miro Konopka will start with his LMP2 from the overall fifth position. Hubert Darmetko was once again the fastest among Porsche cars in the GTC1 category, Antal Zsigo repeated his GT3 top performance, and Rudolf Beňo was the best in GT4 once again.
