Antonín Herbeck claimed victory in the second sprint of the ESET Cup at Lausitzring, driving his Pagani Zonda to dominate both the overall standings within ESET Cup and the GTX category. The Rock Robots team driver showcased impressive performance throughout the race.
Antal Zsigo, starting from the most advantageous position in ESET CUP in his BMW M4 GT3, had Herbeck and Dennis Waszek behind him. However, Herbeck swiftly overtook Zsigo in the first few corners, taking the lead. With the Pagani Zonda’s high top speed, overtaking Herbeck proved to be a challenging task for his competitors.
Zsigo led the GT3 category and, despite setting a lap time a tenth of a second faster than Herbeck, he couldn’t surpass the Czech racer. Nevertheless, Zsigo secured his second victory of the weekend, maintaining his lead in the GT3 driver standings.
Dennis Waszek celebrated his third overall victory at Lausitzring, driving the Lamborghini SuperTropheo for GT2 Motorsport. After winning the endurance race with Gregor Zsigo on Friday, Waszek dominated the GTC category in both Saturday sprints, solidifying his lead in the points table. Libor Dvořáček finished second in GTC with his Lamborghini SuperTropheo for Mičánek Motorsport.
Behind the victorious Herbeck in GTX, Petr Koukola finished second with the KTM GTX for Orlen Janík Motorsport. Gábor Tim with a Lotus Exige V6 for GFS Racing completed the podium, followed by Roland Andraczek, also driving a Lotus.
In the GTC1 category, a battle unfolded between Petr Brecka from GT Sports Technology and Bob Bau from Kogelbauer Motorsport. Both drivers competed with cup Porsche 911s. Although Bau initially led, Brecka eventually overtook him, winning the second sprint as well.
