The ESET Cup has completed four races and is now entering the second half of this year’s season at the Autodrom Most. Many of the favourites feel at home on the North Bohemian circuit, and with the support of the fans, they are ready to deliver their best performances.
The drivers and teams have already competed at Balaton Park, Red Bull Ring, Slovakia Ring, and Lausitzring. Now, it’s time for the fourth event of the season at Autodrom Most, where the starting grid will be particularly strong. Cars from the P9 Challenge series will also be joining, bringing the total to around thirty race cars.
In the GT3 category, Antal Zsigo currently leads the sprint, having moved up from a BMW M4 GT4 to the faster GT3 specification this year. He has already secured five wins and leads the standings. However, he will face strong competition. Petr Fulín is preparing to debut with an Audi LMS GT3, and since Most is his home track, he is expected to deliver impressive results. Martin Hudec, driving an older generation Audi R8 GT3 for Duck Racing, will also be competing in the GT3 category.
Rudolf Beňo remains undefeated this year with his BMW M4 GT4. At the Most circuit, he will face challengers such as Andrej Makarovič with a Mercedes AMG GT4, Ivan Hržejak with a Porsche Cayman GT4, and for the first time, Pavel Sovička with a Lotus Emira GT4.
Dennis Waszek has been dominant in the GTC category with his Lamborghini SuperTrofeo from GT2 Motorsport, achieving eight consecutive wins. If there are no unexpected incidents, he has a strong chance of continuing his winning streak. His closest competitor in GTC is Libor Dvořáček from Mičánek Motorsport, also driving a Lamborghini Super Trofeo.
In the GTC1 category, designated for Porsche 911 Cup cars, Peter Brecka holds a two-point lead. The battle here is intense, with Brecka and Hubert Darmetek vying for the top spot throughout the year, a contest that will likely continue until the grand finale in Brno. Six drivers will compete in GTC1, including Radim Adámek, Andrew Kunitsa, Radek Kolařík, and Bob Bau.
The GTX category is led by Petr Koukoly with a KTM GTX. The Czech driver has secured two wins, but any unfinished race could open the door for Gábor Tima with a Lotus Exige, who is just three points behind Koukoly. Antonín Herbeck with his red Pagani Zonda and Adam Konopka with a Lamborghini Huracán GTX are also strong contenders for victory at Most. The field also includes Roland Andraczek with a Lotus Exige, Ivan Vlachkov with a Sin Car, and Tomáš Miniberger with a KTM GT2. In the D5 class, prototypes will be driven by Miro Konopka (Ligier LMP3) and Alex Tlustý (Praga R1).
The endurance race grid will be similarly strong. BMW factory driver Max Hesse returns to drive the BMW M4 GT3, sharing the car with Antal Zsigo. Petr Fulín Jr. and Jiří Navrátil are expected to drive the new Audi LMS GT3. Pavel Sovička and Jiří Jupa will share the Lotus Emira. Viktor Mráz and Maťo Homola will compete again with their purple KTM GTX.
