Lisowski´s and Jedlinski´s sunset triumph

The two-hour endurance at Slovakia Ring was won by the couple Marcin Jedlinski–Mateusz Lisowski in their Audi R8 LMS GT3 of Olimp Racing team. The Poles controlled the late afternoon race until a comfortable victory without any serious competition.

“I enjoyed the two-hour race and despite a problem in the course of the pit stops Marcin and I managed to return to the lead and control the tempo of the race till the end,“ said the satisfied winner Mateusz Lisowski, finishing the endurance race one lap before the Czechoslovak crew Štefan Rosina and Josef Král in a BMW M6 GT3 of Trevor Racing team. Their loss was caused, to a large extent, by a delay in the pits in the course of the first pit stop.

“In the pits we met a team car arriving to tank right before us and that cost us a lot of time. Otherwise the ride was nice and my cooperation with Štefan was fine,“ described Josef Král the race, with a comment from his team mate Štefan Rosina: “I know Pepa very well from the commentator´s stand at formula 1 races and like at the microphone, at the steering wheel we worked together excellently. My mate was even a little quicker than I,“ laughed Rosina.

The third rank in the overall ranking and the first rank in the GTC category belonged to the family crew of father and son Miro and Maťo Konopkas in their Lamborghini Huracan of ARC Bratislava team. They were followed in the ranking by Gregor Zsigo and Lubomír Jakubík in a BMW Alpina B6 GT3, who received the bronze cup in the GT3 category. The top five were joined by the Czech crew Milan Galáš and Libor Milota in their Porsche 911, at the same time ranking second in GTC.

The passenger car category, TCR, was won by a Seat Cupra driven by Hungarian pilots Csaba Toth and Gabor Kismarty-Lechner. Their victory in the endurance at the same time secured their overall victory in the TCR endurance championship.

Class D4-3000 found its winners in the pair Radim Adámek and Miro Horňák and their BMW M3 GT3 and the first rank for the Clio Cup cars belonged to Enrico Fae and Bostjan Avbelj. These were followed by the crews Sandi Jeram–Tomaz Trček and Zoran Poglajen–Miha Primozic.
