Is Michal Makeš going to hold on to the lead?

The final round of ESET MMSR at Automotodrom Brno is going to offer some very attractive battles in Clio Cup category. This year’s season might be dominated by Michal Makeš, but he did not manage to win any of the two races in Slovakia last time. It was Jáchym Galáš who won there and we can expect a great battle between both drivers for the overall win.

Michal Makeš moved to Clio Cup from karts. His first race came in Hungary where he already won for the first time. And then he won in the following five races. But he never had it easy as Jáchym Galáš, also a rookie with a background in karting, has been always on his back. And in Slovakia, he managed to take his first two wins of the season.

There are only 12 points between both drivers and it is Makeš, who has the advantage of being the championship leader heading into the last round of the season. But anything can happen in the Clio Cup, especially with such a close field. Petr Majer, Zoran Poglajen and Miha Primozič are always nearby and ready to use any opportunity. It might seem that 12 points gap between Makeš and Galáš is big, but you never know and Brno is going to offer some great racing.

On the other hand, Sebastian Kolakowski has already secured his championship win in Clio Cup III as he is unbeatable this year. But there are little doubts that he is going to want to prove himself at Automotodrom Brno, especially as the 2014 Clio Cup champion Maciej Szkudlarka returns to the grid.
