From December 1st to 9th, the Essen Motor Show 2018 attracted 360,000 car enthusiasts from all over Europe. More than 500 exhibitors were pleased about the enormous interest in production sports cars, tuning, motorsport and classic cars. There was also a significant Czech footprint with Octavia Cup, ESET V4 Cup and also Škoda Auto present at the show.
Germany traditionally hosts the biggest motorist event at the beginning of December and it features many presentations from the world of motorsport and sports cars enthusiasts. Organisers also use the opportunity to present their own championships, including ESET V4 Cup.
“It’s not only an expo for the fans of motorsport and tuning, but it’s also about showing our love for the cars. Apart from seeing many brand new products and premieres, visitors get a chance to see cars as a part of cultural heritage. We have received many positive reactions to our series. Also, we have made a new deal with Eurosport TV, which is a fantastic news for our drivers,” said Josef Křenek, one of the ESET V4 Cup organisers.
The ESET V4 Cup series was represented by BMW M6 GT3, Audi RS3 LMS and Chevrolet Cruze Cup racing cars. The visitors could also see a Renault Twingo Cup car, which is used in the ESET V4 Cup’s entry series, at the booth of a famous German karting school JLC Racing. The Benet company then also showcased its racing special used in the Octavia Cup. Škoda Auto was also there, bringing one of the most successful Czech rally cars of all time – the Škoda Fabia R5. The German importer of Škoda cars also used this opportunity to introduce the sports version of its biggest Czech SUV car – Škoda Kodiaq RS.
