One of the new additions to the ESET V4 Cup is a standalone TCR series championship. And this highly expected series will have its debut this weekend at Hungaroring.
Hungaroring will see the best touring cars drivers as the Hungarian circuit hosts WTCR, TCR Europe Touring Car Series and also ESET TCR championships including a TCR Eastern Europe powered by ESET trophy.
In the entry list, you can find some well-known teams like ASK Vesnič with Milovan Vesnič and his SEAT Cupra TCR. Jakub Wyszomirski with Honda Civic will race under the banner of this Serbian team as Rudi Pešović also returns to the scene with Audi RS3 LMS. There is also one Slovak driver Martin Ryba, who is going to race with Honda Civic, while the Czech Republic gets much greater participation with Jáchym Galáš in VW Golf, Dušan Kouřil with Hyundai i30 and Petr Čížek with SEAT Cupra. Maciej Laszkiewicz (VW Golf), Carol Wittke and Žarko Knego (both SEAT Cupra) will also have their place on the grid.
All the races will be broadcasted live on TCR social media like YouTube and Facebook.
The ESET TCR series then heads to Red Bull Ring for Round 02 of the season, this time as a part of ESET V4 Cup race weekend. This race will also see Alfa Romeo cars under the banner of Unicorse team for the first time. Unfortunately, their engines got badly damaged in the pre-season testing and they are forced to miss the opening round of the season. Also, a Swiss driver Jörg Schori with Opel Astra TCR is set to debut in Austria. After that, the ESET TCR series moves to Grobnik (26 – 28 July), Slovakia Ring (23 – 25 August) and the season finishes in Brno (6 – 8 September).
