Paolo Brajnik performed an exemplary start at Slovakia Ring on Sunday, and did not have problem to keep the lead until the end. Although Janos Magyar starting by his side tried to attack him, the Italian pilot covered the best trail and managed to hold his rival behind his back.
Magyar gave up soon after for technical issues and opened the door to another comfortable victory for Brajnik in the hit weather in Slovakia over the weekend creating demanding cockpit conditions for the pilots. The winning Brajnik, taking the top rank in the interim ranking above Andrea Cola, was accompanied to the podium by the Austrian veteran Franz Woss and the Czech pilot Antonín Sus, who had considerable problems with the heat.
“The road surface temperature was sixty degrees and the temperature of the tyres soared to 100 °C, which made the race a struggle for survival, for the truck was sliding and so to achieve good lap times was impossible,“ said Sus.
In F3 Trophy category another victory was scored by Bartolomiej Mirecki, after a short duel with Tamás Ronai of the Hungarian championship, followed by an unthreatened path towards his sixth victory of his six starts in the season. That already secured for him overall victory in F3 Trophy which cannot be surpassed mathematically in the course of the Brno weekend. The second rank after Brajnik was occupied by Antonín Sus amd the third rank belonged to the young local talent Patrick Schober.
