Race cut short by red flags won by Waszek and Zsigo

Saturday’s endurance race was disrupted just eight minutes before the end due to an accident involving Tomáš Miniberger and Adam Konopka. The race was prematurely ended, and Dennis Waszek and Gregor Zsigo from Racing Trevor celebrated victory in the GT3 category.

From the front row, Reinhold Kofler and Tomáš Miniberger in a KTM GT2 lined up alongside Gregor Zsigo and Dennis Waszek in a BMW M6 GT3. Behind them were Maťo Homola and Viktor Mráz in a KTM GTX, followed by Andrew Kunitsa and Ivan Peklin in a Porsche 911.

The first corner, often the critical point of any race, was negotiated without incident, and over twenty cars continued into the hour-long race.

The black KTM GT2 took the lead ahead of Gregor Zsigo, who was pressured by Maťo Homola in a KTM. The Slovakian driver eventually moved into second place overall, and Zsigo came under pressure from a Porsche 911 from the P9 Challenge.

A series of pit stops halfway through the race began to shuffle the established order. After the pit stops, the Mráz-Homola crew moved to the front of the GTX category, ahead of Zsigo-Waszek in the BMW M6 GT3. The Kofler-Miniberger duo, which had led the first half of the race, settled into third place overall in the ESET Cup.

Twenty minutes before the end of the race, the safety car was deployed, erasing the gaps between drivers. Marshals meanwhile pushed off the abandoned Lamborghini Super Trofeo of Josef Záruba and Jakub Knoll, which had stopped at the pit lane exit.

Unfortunately, shortly after the restart, there was an unfortunate collision between Tomáš Miniberger and Adam Konopka. The KTM hit the barriers after contact, and the yellow Lamborghini Huracán had its entire right front side stripped off.

Red flags were displayed shortly after. With eight minutes remaining, the race was prematurely ended.

The winners of the GT3 category were Zsigo and Waszek, followed by Petr Fulín jr. and Jiří Navrátil in an Audi LMS GT3. The crew of Adam Konopka and Miro Konopka were classified third.

In the GTX category, Mráz and Homola won with their KTM. The second place was taken by the Koukola-Majer crew from Orlen Janík Motorsport, and Lisa-Rokos from RTR Projects finished third.

In the GTC category, Darmetko and Lisowski claimed victory, followed by Brecka and Neffe in second place, and Kunitsa and Peklin in third, all driving Porsche 911 992 Cup cars.

In the GT4 category, Pulic and Mladenovic won with a Mercedes AMG GT4, followed by Sovička and Jupa making their debut with a Lotus Emira GT4. Ivan Hrženjak in a Porsche Cayman GT4 completed the podium.
