Michael Sauter will join the starting field in the new season of the Central European Formula 4 Championship. The 19-year-old Swiss will join the family-owned Sauter Engineering + Design team.
Sautner has spent the last two years in the ADAC F4 Championship. He finished his debut season in fifteenth place and was second in the rookie standings. A year later, he was thirteenth overall.
Sautner started racing karts in 2011. He became a two-time Vega Trofeo series champion and was second in the Swiss championship in 2017. He then moved to the cockpit of formula 4 in 2021.
The Sauter name has been around in motorsport since the late 1940s. Michael’s grandfather, Kurt Sauter, was a racing driver and from the early 1950s he concentrated entirely on building Sauter Spezial race cars.
