ESET MMSR teams left a mark in the International GT Open

Once the ESET MMSR season was over, Olimp Racing and Šenkýř Motorsport teams focused on the last round of the International GT Open championship season at Barcelona circuit in Spain.

Olimp Racing had dominated this year’s ESET MMSR championship, but after the season was finished, mechanics did not retire their Audi R8 LMS GT3 into a garage. Instead, the team travelled to Spain to the last round of GT Open championship to race against one of its ESET MMSR competitors – Šenkýř Motorsport.

Robert Šenkýř’s team already had its 2018 GT Open debut under its belt after taking racing with BMW M6 GT3 car at Spa-Francorchamps earlier this year. And it was a successful race, with Richard Gonda and Joel Eriksson finishing fourth and second in two races.

In Spain, Gonda was joined by a BMW Motorsport junior driver Mikkel Jensen. Slovak-Danish duo was very strong and finished fifth on Saturday and on Sunday as well. Šenkýř Motorsport left GT Open after making a good impression. The Czech team did not finish worse than fifth.

Olimp Racing did not have such a great weekend. The team brought to Barcelona its Audi R8 LMS GT3 with Stanislaw Jedlinski-Malgorzata Rdest and Marcin Jedlinski-Mateusz Lisowski. It was Lisowski who was the fastest driver and even competed with the best ones on the grid. In the end, he entered the second one-hour long race as the sole driver. However, due to some issues, Lisowski finished only twentieth, although it was still the best result for the Polish team in Barcelona.
