After a long winter break, it‘s time to return to racing circuits. This weekend marks the beginning of another ESET V4 Cup season that traditionally starts at Hungaroring, near Budapest, Hungary.
Hungaroring hosts the season opener for the 7th time and just like in the previous years we can look forward to thrilling battles across several categories. The most popular GT category will see familiar names in the GT3 class again, including a current champion Marcin Jedlinski in his Audi R8 LMS GT3 or Richard Chlad jr. with Audi R8 LMS ultra. A Slovak driver Miro Konopka is back as well, with Lamborghini GT3 EVO, while Libor Milota will debut his new Mercedes AMG GT3.
The GTC Cup category is going to belong to Lamborghini Huracán cars thanks to Mičánek Motorsport and Sládečka Motorsport teams. But there will be also a BMW M4 GT4 of Trevor Racing.
It is going to be highly competitive in the Clio Cup category, led by a last year‘s champion Michal Makeš. This Cup series will offer seven Renault cars of the 4th generation, mostly with young talented drivers, who are hungry for a win something after a long winter break.
And an attractive single-seater cannot be forgotten. There will be 22 Formula cars at Hungaroring, including two brand new Dallara F318 featuring last year’s specification. These two cars will be driven by a defending champion Paulo Brajnik and a Czech driver Vladimír Netušil with his team Effective Racing. Formula Renault 2.0 cars will now count towards a standalone championship as there will be 9 of these cars on the grid. Once again with Bartolomiej Mirecki who dominated Formula Renault cars last season.
Also, fans of Twingo Cup cars are going to be delighted as the starting grid for the opening round is set to feature 18 drivers and very close battle are expected.
