The final race of the ESET Cup season will once again be hosted by the Automotodrom Brno. This time, we can look forward to decisive moments in the battle for titles in various categories.
In the GT3 category, the championship was already decided at the previous event at the Slovakia Ring, where Antal Zsigo secured the title with his BMW M4 GT3. In Brno, he will be keen to confirm his form, although he will face a strong competitor. Petr Fulín, who debuted with the Audi LMS GT3 in Most, returns to the driver’s seat for his second race. Back in August, he showed that he could win with the new machinery, and in Brno, he will be one of the favourites.
The GT4 category has also been decided in advance, with Rudolf Beňo from the Aries team crowned champion in his BMW M4 GT4. However, strong competition awaits him at the Masaryk Circuit. Representing the Czech colours will be former truck racing champion Adam Lacko, who will drive the Mercedes AMG GT4 for Buggyra ZM Racing. Among others, we will see Andrej Makarovic (Mercedes), Jaka Štuflek (Audi), and Ivan Hrženjak (Porsche) on the grid.
In the GTC category, Dennis Waszek with the Lamborghini SuperTrofeo from GT2 Motorsport is the favourite for the title. He has dominated the championship, winning every race he has finished this year. Libor Dvořáček will be showcasing the newer generation of the Lamborghini SuperTrofeo in Brno. In the GTC1 category, which is designated for Porsche cup cars, the home racers Radim Adámek and Austrian Bob Bau will be competing.
The GTX category, known for its diverse range of racing machinery, will feature Adam Konopka’s Lamborghini Huracan, Antonín Herbeck’s legendary Pagani Zonda, Gábor Tima’s Lotus Exige, and a pair of KTM cars driven by Tomáš Miniberger and Petr Koukola. Koukola currently leads the GTX standings, but Adam Konopka has collected the most points in recent races and has closed the gap to just 8.5 points.
The ESET Cup races will also be enriched by the D5 category prototypes, with season regulars Miro Konopka in the Ligier LMP3 and Axel Tlustý in the Praga R1. Additionally, cars from the P9 Challenge series will also be on the starting grid.
The traditional Saturday endurance race will provide an exciting spectacle as well, where the winners and losers will be decided. In the GT3 category, Gregor Zsigo is on track for the title, with Dennis Waszek, who joined him mid-season, and both currently occupying the top two spots in the standings. Petr Fulín will share the Audi with Jiří Navrátil, and Antal Zsigo will team up with Štefan Rosina in the BMW. In the GTC category, Jakub Knoll and Josef Záruba, driving the Lamborghini SuperTrofeo, are just a step away from claiming the title.
