Jáchym Galáš continued in his excellent form in the Sunday races at the Brno Circuit again. In the Clio Cup he started with the best lap time in the time practice and then did not give a chance to anybody in the race, receiving his fourth cup for the winner in a row.
Galáš started from the pole position in front of Petr Majer, the third starting position belonging to Michal Makeš, followed by Alfred Kramer, Miha Primozic and Sebastian Kolakowski. The passing start was very tight but Galáš held the first rank in the cluster of the quickly driving cars and then only controlled the lead and watched for the attempts of his rivals in his rear-view mirrors.
“I am glad I managed to win for a fourth time in a row. I like it here in Brno, the circuit is nice in a nice environment. My victory today was based above all on the good start and the advantage I built in the first two curves and then only needed to keep for the rest of the race,“ revealed Jáchym Galáš, behind whom a fierce battle for the remaining ranks took place.
Petr Majer, Alfred Kramer, Michal Makeš and Miho Primozic were the warriors of the attractive battle. This group often changed ranks. Despite a couple of really tight moments all of them successfully finished the race, with Petr Majer finally holding the second rank followed by Alfred Kramer. Michal Makeš was left with the fourth rank and the top five further included Miha Primozic.
Another victory in Clio Cup III crowned the season of Sebastian Kolakowski, finishing before the Clio Cup champion of 2016 Maciej Szkudlarek.
