Last year saw a debut of Jáchym Galáš at the circuits after doing karting in previous years. He was racing with a 4th generation Clio Cup car and he had to get used to everything, from much heavier cars to tougher competitions in the ESET Clio Cup series. In the end, he finished 2nd in the standings with 4 wins and also a Czech championship title.
However, his GT2 Motorsport team is going to introduce a different car for 2019, which will see Jáchym Galáš getting an opportunity in a stronger TCR category car.
“Jáchym will race in the ESET V4 Cup once again, but with a different car. We’ve decided to buy a Volkswagen Golf, as the TCR category has been showing a huge potential over the past few years and I think it’s a perfect way. Of course, this season will be about learning again, but I believe that Jáchym will do well,” said Milan Galáš, Jáchym’s father and a team owner.
