The final sprint of this year’s ESET Cup season was ruled by the family duo of Miro Konopka and Adam Konopka, with both claiming victory in their respective categories. Other triumphs included Petr Fulín and Bronislav Formánek.
Miro Konopka, driving a Ligier LMP3, and Marko Fink from the SCC series started on the front row, with Petr Fulín in an Audi GT3 and Alex Tlustý in a Praga R1 behind them. Unfortunately, Ondřej Rokos in a KTM GTX did not make it to the formation lap.
The field of 29 racing cars navigated the first corner without much trouble, with Miro Konopka taking the lead. Further back, Adam Konopka, driving a Lamborghini Huracán GTX, began challenging Bronislav Formánek in a Lamborghini SuperTrofeo from the GTC category. Formánek had an excellent start but couldn’t keep the younger Konopka behind him. However, this didn’t affect Formánek’s standing, as he still led the GTC, while Adam Konopka took the lead in GTX.
Adam continued his charge and started closing in on GT3 leader Petr Fulín. He overtook Fulín in the third lap, securing fourth overall.
The ARC Bratislava team celebrated a double victory, with Miro Konopka winning the D5 category and Adam Konopka the GTX. Alex Tlustý came second in D5, while in GTX, Petr Koukola from Orlen Janík Motorsport finished behind Adam. Gábor Tim in a Lotus Elise completed the podium in third place.
Petr Fulín achieved his second victory at Brno in an Audi, while Antal Zsgio in a BMW and Martin Hudec in another Audi finished third.
A thrilling battle took place in the GTC category between teammates from Mičánek Motorsport. Bronislav Formánek initially took the lead, but as the race progressed, he came under pressure from Josef Záruba. The two raced closely for the rest of the event, but Záruba couldn’t find a way past, finishing just 0.192 seconds behind Formánek. Third place in GTC went to Dennis Waszek, who is this year’s category champion. Bob Bau in a Porsche 911 took the GTC1 victory.
As expected, there was another intense fight for the GT4 category win between Adam Lacko in a Mercedes AMG GT4 and Rudolf Beňo in a BMW M4 GT4. They raced closely throughout, but it was Lacko who ultimately claimed the Brno victory. Beňo crossed the line in second, with Ivan Hrženjak finishing third.
