Libor Horák will once again appear at the start of the Clio Cup. He will take the wheel of the fourth-generation Renault Clio at the Autodrom Most and attempt to secure a podium position.
The return of the Clio Cup to the Most Circuit was a challenge thrown to Horák. It is practically his home circuit, and he didn’t want to miss such an opportunity. “I will be able to join the race thanks to the generosity of the Carpek team and the promoter of the ESET Cup, Mr. Josef Křenek. Jirka Míka, who competes in the Carbonia Cup, and my rally co-driver Ivan Fryč have been very helpful in fulfilling the budget. Despite their own activities and responsibilities, they managed to arrange several partnerships that allow me to race in Most. It’s absolutely amazing to have such friends around,” says Horák, who spends most of his racing career in the world of rallying.
Horák doesn’t underestimate the preparations for the race weekend. He plans to sit down with the Carpek team’s boss, Tomáš Pekař, and Jiří Míka to discuss everything necessary and listen to their advice. The goal is clear: to achieve a podium finish in the Clio IV classification.
“The podium will definitely be my aim. This year, the cars are being balanced with the same weight, including the driver, so my weight handicap might not play such a significant role. I’m really looking forward to it. However, the main priority is to enjoy the home race and fulfill a childhood dream. I’ve already completed a few test laps on this track, so I hope I can keep up with my competitors,” adds Horák, who competed last year at the Hungaroring and the Red Bull Ring, where he secured third place in the Clio IV.
