The opening race of the Renault Clio Cup series at Hungaroring went well for Michal Makeš. The Czech driver took a victory and has become this year’s champion. He was joined on the podium by Zoran Poglajen and Levente Losonczy.
Michal Makeš headed to Hungaroring as the 2nd best driver in the standings, being two points behind the championship leader Petr Majer. However, he was a clear favourite to win the title as Petr Majer had to skip the season finale.
And Makeš used that opportunity already in the opening race of the weekend. The Mičánek Motorsport driver did not hesitate, took a pole position and then dominated the whole race. Hungaroring saw another racing driver becoming a champion, shortly after Chlad jr. took the GT3 crown earlier.
Makeš, who is now a two-time champion, was joined on the podium by Zoran Poglajen in 2nd place and also Levente Losonczy, who brought joy to Hungarian fans by finishing in 3rd position.
