Last year’s debutant in the Twingo Cup moves to the more powerful Clio Cup, where he proved himself at the end of last season and showed promising performance. Martin Kadlečík is thus facing another new challenge this year.
Over the winter, the Kadlečík´s family had been wondering whether they could find the funds and the car to complete a full season in Clio Cup. “I’m really happy that we managed to get a car and I can’t wait for the first race,” says Martin Kadlečík.
The Clio fourth-generation was raced in Switzerland and, according to Martin, has been well looked after. Now it will be looked after in the Czech Republic. “We are not planning to cooperate with another team, we will service the car ourselves,” continues Kadlečík, who raced the Clio at the end of last season in Brno.
“I’m glad I tried the Clio in Brno, so I’m not going completely into the unknown. However, the goals are not very high, it will be a test season, about getting used to the new car. I would be happy if I could get stable results and gradually get faster,” added Kadlečík, who is preparing for his first race in Oschersleben.
He hasn’t raced at Oschersleben before, but is learning the circuit from racing simulator, in which he also excels and represented the Czech Republic well at the FIA Motorsport Games last year. “Oschersleben is a fast track and I’m curious to see how the Clio Cup will handle on it. I will be preparing on the simulator and I hope to transfer the speed to the real track,” concluded Kadlečík.
