Saturday evening at Red Bull Ring was traditionally dedicated to the ESET Cup endurance race. Adam Konopka started from the most advantageous position in a Lamborghini Huracan GT3, but the eventual winner was his father, Miro Konopka, in the second Lamborghini.
The rolling start and the critical first corner passed without incident, and young Konopka maintained his lead in his classification. However, in the technical section of the circuit, he attempted to overtake the Tweraser-McKansy Lamborghini from the P9 series, which proved to be fateful for Konopka. He tried to slip past the green Lamborghini but ended up on the grass, losing control of his car. His yellow Lamborghini hit the barrier and then crossed the track to the opposite side. Although Konopka made it to the pits and the mechanics tried to repair the car, he ultimately had to retire.
Meanwhile, there was also an incident in the first corner where Antal Zsigo collided with Christina Wimberger, bringing out the safety car.
After the restart, the Mráz-Homola team in the KTM GTX took the lead, followed by Miro Konopka as the leader of the GT3 category. During the race, Konopka worked his way to the overall lead of the ESET Cup and confidently secured his first endurance victory of the season. Gregor Zsigo finished second in the GT3 category with his BMW M6 GT3.
The Knoll-Záruba team dominated the GTC category and brought their Lamborghini home right behind Konopka in the overall classification. Knoll and Záruba won the GTC category ahead of their teammates from the Mičánek Motorsport team, Dvořáček-Mičánek.
In the GTC1 category, reserved for Porsche 911 cars, the Czech team Brecka-Neffe from GT Sports Technology emerged victorious, followed by the Darmetko-Lisowski duo from PTT Racing. Radek Kolařík from Šenkýř Motorsport finished third.
The best in the GTX category was the Mráz-Homola team, which initially held the lead ahead of Konopka. Their black-and-purple KTM GTX crossed the finish line first, ahead of the second KTM GTX of the Czepiel-Koukola team from Orlen Janík Motorsport.
In the battle for GT4 laurels, Mark Kastelic with the Mercedes AMG GT4 from LEMA Racing emerged as the winner, leaving behind the Beňo-Gonda duo in the BMW M4 GT4 and the Lantos-Mladenović team in the second Mercedes from LEMA Racing.
