The fourth event of the Twingo Cup will be hosted by the Slovakia Ring this weekend. During the season, Nik Štefančič and Matej Ivanuša alternate at the top of the standings.
It is not usual that only two drivers conquered such an even championship as the Twingo Cup this year. Štefančič and Ivanuša have won all races so far and have not let anyone else onto the top step of the podium.
Both Slovenians from the Lema Racing team regularly occupy the first positions and manage to use key moments to their advantage in tight races. For example, in Grobnik, it looked like David Stušek would win, but in the sprint to the checkered flag, Ivanuša beat him by 0.096 seconds and achieved his third win of the season. His opponent Štefančič won two races and leads the standings with 100 points – Ivanuš has seven less.
Štefančič is thus fighting for the second title in a row, something that no one has achieved so far in the history of the Twingo Cup. The Slovenian competitor is also the most successful junior in the Junior Standings. Besides Štefančič, six other juniors will start in Slovakia, including Mihailo Mladenović, who holds the current third place. In total, 22 drivers are registered for the race weekend.
