Single-seaters provided fans with a beautiful battle for the win at Hungaroring as Paolo Brajnik brilliantly held off Tom Beckhäuser. Andrea Cola finished 3rd.
It all started well for Brajnik when he took a pole position in qualifying. But as he is still learning with his new Formula car. he had a much slower start than his competitors. Luckily for Brajnik, he still managed to keep his hungry rivals behind and he maintained the lead into Turn 1. But that was just a beginning as yesterday’s winner Tom Beckhäuser did not intend to settle for 2nd. A very close battle for the win followed in the next 25 minutes. However, Brajnik defended brilliantly and even showed that he is not afraid when he forced Beckhäuser slightly off the track at one point.
Andrea Cola meanwhile watched everything closely from 3rd place, in case there was any good opportunity. But Brajnik managed it all very well and won the second race at the Hungaroring circuit.
Paolo Brajnik won in the E2-2000 category ahead of János Magyar and Attila Penzes. In the F3 category, Tom Beckhäuser took the victory with Andrea Cola finishing 2nd and Luca Iannaccone 3rd. Hungarian fans got a home winner, thanks to Robert Hefler in the Formula Renault category, while Václav Šafář won in F4 category.
