The Brno-based team, Šenkýř Motorsport, has returned to the ESET Cup after a two-year break. They entered two cars in the opening event at the Balaton Park circuit and also competed at the Red Bull Ring. However, the team, led by Robert Šenkýř, is not stopping there. On the contrary, they have plenty of cars and, more importantly, drivers who are eager to race.
At both opening events, Šenkýř Motorsport fielded two cars: a Porsche 922 Cup for Radek Kolařík and a BMW M4 GT4 for Rudolf Beňo. “Although Rudolf Beňo races under the Aries Racing registration, it is our car, and we handle its operation,” explained Robert Šenkýř.
The team divided its efforts between two cars in two categories, achieving success each time. Kolařík secured third place in the GTC1 sprint in Hungary and the same position in the endurance race in Austria. Beňo turned four GT4 sprint starts into four second-place finishes, and in the endurance races, he and Richard Gonda achieved a second place and a victory.
Šenkýř Motorsport will also be seen in the upcoming races of this season. They have a very large base of drivers.
“We have twelve cars and eleven drivers in the team. We trained in Spain all winter and got racing licenses for the drivers. We are gradually planning where they will race. Some are just training, others are competing in amateur races, and some are ready to compete in bigger races, like Radek Kolařík in the ESET Cup. So, at the domestic races in Most and Brno, as well as at the Slovakia Ring, we plan to expand our fleet even further,” added Robert Šenkýř, who will also participate as a driver in the 3h Classic Rennen race at the 24h Nürburgring, driving a Volvo 240i Turbo (1986) with colleagues Richard Gonda and Tomáš Erdélyi.
