Sunday’s Clio Cup race was dominated by local driver Szabolcs Lantos, who took the lead from the second place on the grid and kept the first place until the finish.
Lantos from NNR Team Hungary team started from the front row alongside Tobias Poschik from Carpek Racing. Debutant Poschik won Saturday’s race, but this time he didn’t get a chance for a win. At the start, he dropped into the field and had to fight back.
Lantos took the lead and ran away from his opponents. Second Miha Primožič wasn´t serious opponent for the Hungarian leader. Instead Primožič had to defend position against Tomáš Pekař, who overtook Primožič in the second lap and settled in second place. However, Primožič did not give up and the duel with Pekař continued. In the fourth lap Primožič managed to get back to second place.
Thanks to their duel, Tobias Poschik has been able to quickly moved behind them and he also defeated his teammate and team boss Tomáš Pekář. It should be noted that Pekař started with the fifth generation of Clio, which is a bit slower than the older version of Clio IV.
Tobias Poschik also got ahead of Primožič in the final laps and was classified in second place behind Lantos. Miha Primožič from the Lema Racing team took third. Libor Horák, who is regular rally driver, finished fourth in the Clio IV classification. Horák’s Carpek Racing teammate Richard Meixner closed the top five.
Tomáš Pekař won Clio V classification ahead of his teammate Henrik Seibel.
