Andrea Cola won the best starting position for the Sunday race and kept the lead after the red lights went off, this time, however, having to look not only in front of him, but also to the rear-view mirrors, where he could see the Italian Paulo Brajnik for the whole race. The two of them performed excellently and Brajnik never lost more than a second after the leader. To find the ideal place for overtaking at Grobnik is however harder than it seems and Brajnik did not find a recipe for overtaking Andrea Cola before the race ended.
Thus the winner of the race was Andrea Cola followed by Paul Brajnik, and the third-ranking Franz Wöss. Dr. Ulrich Drechsler ranked fourth.
